The pharmaceutical industry has made 2019 a remarkable year for innovation in science, technology, and most importantly, patient health. This year the industry has overcome challenges in sterile manufacturing, complex technologies, and the increasing need for facility advancement and sustainable quality.
ISPE has staked our claim as leaders when it comes to making global pharmaceutical professionals ready for the future. Over this past year, we took action to bring you innovative resources that our Members will need. We launched the complimentary Pharma Best Practices Webinar Series, collaborating with Members who are subject matter experts in their fields. This allowed us to reach more than 4,000 professionals in over 80 countries and provided attendees with the opportunity to take a deeper dive into topics that are important to them.
We introduced an enhanced Communities of Practice platform, providing a more robust, user-friendly experience for our Members to connect with each other worldwide. We introduced 13 new and updated training courses, three new conferences, and in total offered more than 60 training courses and conferences around the world, including our largest attended ISPE Europe Annual Meeting to date. Overall, this allowed us to support more than 4,000 educational experiences with attendees representing more than 40 countries. We continue to collaborate with our Members to grow ISPE’s knowledge network with our library of ISPE Guidance Documents—the gold standard for the pharmaceutical industry, as well as concept papers, and articles in Pharmaceutical Engineering® magazine.
The ISPE Foundation continues to grow, enabling ISPE to influence the future of the profession and support technical education to prepare pharmaceutical professionals for tomorrow, as well as opening a necessary discussion around diversity and inclusion within pharmaceutical engineering. ISPE is committed to the advancement of the educational and technical efficiency of our Members through forums for the exchange of ideas and practical experience.
The introduction of new resources and the enhancement of staple resources gives us further flexibility and opportunity to meet the needs of our Members and industry and allows us to continue our efforts in improving and transforming the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry. We couldn’t do what we do without our dedicated Members that volunteer on their own time for various committees and put their heart into sharing their knowledge to produce guidance documents, events, trainings, and other technical resources that benefits the entire global pharmaceutical community.
In the age of digitalization and growing complexities in patient therapies, the pharmaceutical industry is equipped to pioneer the future of pharmaceutical engineering alongside the global community of inspired professionals .
Thank you to our Members for supporting ISPE and our mission to ensure the availability of quality medicines. We look forward to elevating our efforts even more in 2020.
