In addition to the International Women in Pharma Committee, this global network thrives in ISPE Affiliates and Chapters around the world, each of which manages its own Women in Pharma initiatives for its local members by providing educational resources, mentoring activities, social and networking opportunities, and award programs aimed at helping local women in the industry gain substantial industry knowledge, participate in important conversations, serve as mentors to those entering the biopharma sector or enhancing their existing careers, and connect with like-minded people with similar goals and interests.
Women in Pharma actively provides educational sessions at every conference that is held by ISPE, and the 2024 ISPE Europe Annual Conference, being held April 16-18 in Lisbon, Portugal, is no exception.
The conference, which draws industry professionals of all levels, from students and emerging leaders to the most senior executives in industry-wide organizations, will feature a Women in Pharma panel that will explore the intersection of healthcare equity and digitalization.
The panel will include:

Together, they will examine the opportunities and challenges presented by the rapidly advancing digital technologies in shaping a more inclusive and accessible healthcare landscape. The discussion will also address such topics as the social impact in achieving healthcare equity, the differences in healthcare in various countries and regions, policies and guidelines for patient care, comparison in between regulations worldwide, and the impact of AI on clinical trials, supply chains, and how it can leverage patients’ experience.
Current trends within these fascinating issues, which include the roles of patient advocates in shaping policies that prioritize the needs of vulnerable and underserved communities; digital platforms that collect, identify and address health disparities; and the importance of ethical data practices, patient privacy, and data-driven interventions—all of which contribute to equitable healthcare outcomes – will be addressed during this interactive forum.
