The ISPE Annual Aseptic Conference continues to lead in the evolution of aseptic technology. The 2018 Aseptic Conference, 6 -7 March in Reston, VA, marks 27 years of providing information to ensure safe and reliable product supply while providing patient safety. The conference educates pharmaceutical manufacturing professionals about the latest technologies related to Aseptic Processing. Every year I look forward to attending the Aseptic Conference, as it helps me create a vision for upgrading my legacy facility while peaking at innovation for the future state of the industry.
Highlights of the 2018 Aseptic Conference include sessions focused on:
The 2018 Aseptic Conference will have a topic of interest for everyone! The tried and true aseptic and barrier tracks are the backbone of the conference with the newest addition this year, a half day containment track! This new track aims to tackle topics related to highly potent and toxic compounds and the special needs they bring.
As part of the planning committee, I can say that no detail has been missed for the 2018 Aseptic Conference. The content rich sessions will introduce new technological achievements in the fields of aseptic fill-finish operations such as robotics, sophisticated dispensing systems, and disposables. There will also be a keynote session featuring Joyce Hansen, Vice President, J&J Sterility Assurance, Johnson & Johnson, speaking about becoming change agents in creating a vision for legacy facilities upgrades.
In addition to the topic line-up mentioned above, the conference will integrate real-world case studies. Six manufacturing companies will have the opportunity to present their experiences and the benefits of using robotics in aseptic processing during an industry panel discussion. During the panel discussion, you’ll get the full story first hand - what was the actual challenge and how was it overcome.
Stay tuned over the next several months, as we’ll be sharing more about the 27th Annual Aseptic Conference. I look forward to seeing you there.
