Vice President
Kristen Farrell is a local chapter representative and one of the Vice Presidents of the New England Chapter of Cure SMA, an organization dedicated to the support of families and individuals living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Cure SMA also funds critical research necessary to develop treatment breakthroughs and ultimately, a cure for SMA.
Kristen grew up in Melrose, MA and graduated from the University of Vermont with a major in Animal Genetics. Kristen works as a nationally certified American Sign Language Interpreter specializing in healthcare and is also mom to Braeden, who is 10 years old and Kernan, who is 8.5 years old, both of whom have SMA. Kristen has been married to her husband Jim for over 20 years, and their family resides in the beautiful city of Newburyport, MA where she also serves on the local Commission on Disabilities. Kristen enjoys running, cycling, outdoor activities, and being with her family and friends at the beach and in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont.
