Matt Khair

Company: CRB

Matt Khair is a Senior Associate and Western Regional Leader at CRB. Over the course of Matt’s career, he has actively led and participated on multi-discipline teams executing conceptual, preliminary and detailed design efforts and has been heavily involved in construction, start-up and commissioning/validation support. Matt has also actively participated in project execution visioning, chartering, planning and scheduling for large-scale, capital projects, often implementing Lean philosophies, tools and techniques to meet aggressive cost and schedule demands for his clients. Matt currently oversees design operations for CRB’s Western Region, consisting of four offices in Carlsbad, Orange County, Los Angeles, and Oakland. In his previous role, Matt started and ran CRB’s Maryland office, successfully growing the office to a team of 50-plus design and construction professionals over a five-year period and working closely with several notable companies in the area.

Christian Pikel

Company: The ReAlignment Group

Christian Pikel, managing principal and senior coach with The ReAlignment Group, brings a unique insight and novel approach to lean/IPD coaching for teams and organizations, defined by a diverse career spanning more than two decades in the design and construction industry as design/build trade manager, preconstruction and project developer and serial builder owner. This is coupled with Christian’s ten years of experience as practitioner and student of lean construction and engagement with over 30 IPD projects in roles of collaborator, leader and coach. Most recently, Assistant Director in Design & Construction for a major national healthcare network, Christian has been integrating project teams from initial team member selection through all phases of project delivery, while supporting internal development of process improvement practices and improving organizational learning behaviors. Christian is based in the Washington, DC area and travels nationally and internationally to support project team, companies and organizations on their lean/IPD journeys.

Andrew Rhodes

Company: Southland Industries

Andrew Rhodes works for Southland Industries in Dulles, VA. He has 13 years of industry experience with a special emphasis on collaborative, Lean Integrated Project Delivery teams formed via multi-party contracts. He has worked as a Design Engineer, Project Manager, and Lean facilitator on various projects including healthcare, data center, and manufacturing facilities. His focus centers on team formation and the leadership of a project's validation phase. Mr. Rhodes is a 2007 graduate of Penn State, where he obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Architectural Engineering. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and an active member of the Lean Construction Institute.

Brad Shives

Company: Catalent Pharma Solutions/Paragon Gene Therapy

Brad Shives serves as Director at Catalent Pharma Solutions/Paragon Gene Therapy. Brad is responsible for the planning and delivery of capital project scopes for Catalent Maryland operations. These projects are varied and support GMP manufacturing, laboratory and administrative operations of the company.
